Shane has his life all figured out. He's the star center of the Montreal Metros, an athlete who gets mentioned among the likes of Tiger Woods and Serena Williams. He's a gold medalist, he's won the Stanley Cup multiple times. Rookie of the Year. The face of luxury brands and the Canadian Government. He has a reputation for not being the most sociable, but no one can deny that he's the face of the sport and the best ambassador that hockey could ask for. In a lot of ways, Shane lives a charmed life. It's stressful, but he has a lifestyle that works for him, he takes care of his body, he fulfils his obligations.

He has exactly one problem; Ilya Rozanov.

Shane really doesn't know how it happened, but he's fallen into a pattern of hooking up with the man he supposedly can't stand, his rival in the sport since they were teenagers.

He's going to end it, and soon. This can't go on, hiding this aspect of his life is going to blow up in his face someday, and he doesn't even like Rozanov.

Once he breaks things off with Rozanov, life can go back to normal and he can settle into the rest of his hockey career, meet a nice girl, have a couple kids, maybe a dog. He won't have to worry about sneaking around, about giving himself away by turning red when Rozanov looks his way, he won't have to worry about lying to his parents. It's going to be fine, he just has to quit. He will, soon.
